The Hermannsweg and the long-distance cycle route R1 run directly through the area. Notable attractions include the Adlerwarte, the largest raptor observatory in Germany, as well as the Falkenburg ruins from the 12th century. The Wächterhof from 1488 and the paper mill from 1607 are additional historical highlights. Berlebeck is also a spa town and known for the Berlebecker springs, which supply the drinking water for Detmold.
