The small fishing port with cutters and yachts is now the most modern in Western Pomerania. Here you can enjoy the maritime atmosphere during an evening walk. From the beach in Freest you can enjoy an impressive view of the estuary and the opposite town of Peenemünde. Freest is an interesting starting point for excursions to the islands of Rügen, Usedom, Ruden and Oie, the historic Peenemünde Museum and the most beautiful cities in Western Pomerania and neighboring Poland.
