When we found this dream property, we awakened it from its deep slumber. Once a former farmhouse with a barn and stable dating back to the 17th century, it was completely renovated with the help of local craftsmen, all while carefully adhering to heritage preservation regulations. We gave the entire estate the name “Föhrienhaus” – the holiday home on Föhr – and had it officially registered due to its uniqueness. We divided it into three separate units: “Wattwurm,” “Möwennest,” and “Strandläufer.” Each of these three houses has now been awarded 5 stars—the highest rating—by the German Tourism Association for the sixth consecutive time. Because we also believe that it’s the little details that make perfection, we have made it our mission to pay close attention to them in our holiday homes. Whether it’s creating a cozy atmosphere with different lighting sources, providing oversized duvets tailored to the season, ensuring comfortable seating at a pleasant height—especially for seniors—or many other thoughtful touches. But it’s not just the unique ambiance of the three holiday homes that delights our guests; the many personal touches are also repeatedly praised. Even before your arrival, you will receive useful information to help you prepare for your stay. On the day of arrival, the flag of your home region will already be flying at the entrance of the private driveway to welcome you. We will be there in person to greet you, hand over the keys, explain important details, and answer any questions you may have—so you can start your holiday completely relaxed. A surprise starter package awaits you for your first evening, allowing you to slip straight into holiday mode after your journey. And of course, your furry companion will receive a little surprise too! We are also happy to assist you throughout your stay with any questions or requests, and on the day of departure, we will see you off with a travel box.

As we live in close proximity to the property, we can respond individually to our guests’ wishes. You will enjoy our personal service—from the first contact via the internet to the warm welcome at your holiday home—whether in House Wattwurm, House Möwennest, or House Strandläufer. Each property is thoroughly cleaned by us after every stay, and we provide hand-ironed bed linen and soft towels, which can be changed weekly upon request. Even after many years of renting, we have never grown tired of offering our guests the highest possible level of comfort. Several times a year, we inspect every room, noting any areas that could be improved. We never shy away from new purchases or renovations. For us, the phrase “it still works” really means “it needs to be replaced.” As soon as the holiday season ends, we roll up our sleeves and work through our to-do list—unless improvements have already been made immediately. It is not only important to us to continuously improve our standards; we also genuinely enjoy developing individual ideas and giving our houses a distinctive and unmistakable character. Midlum, as the name suggests, is located in the heart of the island. We consciously chose this location, as it guarantees complete peace and a true connection with nature. Guests seeking a break from everyday hustle and bustle will feel perfectly at home here. Our listed Frisian house is slightly elevated on a geest ridge with its own long private driveway, so you remain undisturbed by traffic noise—only the birdsong from the surrounding gardens can be heard. Despite its quiet edge-of-village location, the house is well connected to the local infrastructure, all of which can be reached quickly—whether on foot, by bike, or by car. Looking for relaxation, culture, and good food during your stay? Midlum offers it all: for relaxation, the vast marshlands begin right outside your door, perfect for long walks (with your dog). For culture, the nearby Museum of West Coast Art offers changing exhibitions. And for great food, a traditional Frisian restaurant in the village serves delicious dishes. You can extend your walks or bike rides through the marshes all the way to the dike, and even continue on to Utersum. Along the way, you’ll encounter rare birds, many sheep, cows, and horses—and enjoy the gentle sea breeze. If the weather turns less favorable, we recommend visiting the Museum of West Coast Art. Located within walking distance in the neighboring village, it focuses on themes of the sea and coastline and features high-quality rotating exhibitions rather than a permanent collection. In Nieblum, you’ll find St. Johannis Church, also known as the “Frisian Cathedral.” Its churchyard, with 265 gravestones, holds the largest collection of historic grave markers in any North Frisian cemetery. Right next door is the restaurant “Namine Witt,” which we highly recommend for its fine dining. If you prefer something more rustic, we suggest the Midlumer Krog here in the village.
