Relax in a stylish and peaceful house at the edge of the forest, located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, just 2 km from the Rennsteig trail. The house is modern and fully equipped, featuring a living room with a fireplace, sofa, table, and TV. The open-plan kitchen on the ground floor includes an induction stove, dishwasher and washing machine. On sunny days, it’s worth enjoying breakfast or a barbecue on the terrace with its stunning panoramic view (charcoal grill available). The sleeping area offers a 1.60 m bed, a sofa, a workspace with high-speed Wi-Fi, and an excellent view.

Hiking trails start right behind the house, for example to the Rennsteig (approx. 2 km via Kahlert/Neustadt), to Masserberg (approx. 9 km), and to Oberhof (approx. 30 km). The picturesque ILM cycle path is about 3 km away and can be accessed via "Hohe Tanne". E-bikes can be rented at the local spa administration (Kurverwaltung). There is a secure, lockable room available free of charge for storing your bicycles. The beautifully located forest swimming pool in Altenfeld is just a 7-minute walk away. You can get fresh bread rolls (Brötchen) at the local gas station, just a 6-minute walk from the house. Various supermarkets, a pharmacy, general practitioner, dentist, and banks (Sparkasse and Volksbank) can be found in Großbreitenbach, about 5 km away. There are active bus connections to Großbreitenbach and Ilmenau, where you can catch regional and ICE trains from Erfurt. Golf enthusiasts can play at the beautiful Golfclub Weimarer Land in Blankenhain – about a 50-minute drive – offering two 18-hole and one 9-hole course. Erfurt (the state capital, known for its cathedral and cultural heritage), Weimar (famous for art and culture), Ilmenau (a university and Goethe town), Coburg, and Bamberg are all well worth a visit and easily accessible by car. Theatres in Weimar, Meiningen, and Coburg also invite you to enjoy an evening out. The nearest motorway can be reached in about 25 minutes, giving you easy access to Erfurt, Weimar, and Frankfurt, as well as Coburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg, and Munich.
