Company info
The owners love their boats and are delighted to welcome you as a guest.
Essentially, you have everything on board that you need for a life “without fuss.”
On-board equipment and access
The chairs can be used both indoors and outdoors. Sun loungers for the terrace are also available. A sunshade is not yet available at present, but will be provided during the course of the season. The sound system is a standard radio. Access to the boat is via one large step from the floating jetty—there is no additional gangway.
Location and surroundings
Your quarters are located in the Schwedenschanze marina, not far from the university, which you will pass through by car upon arrival (street: Zur Schwedenschanze). The marina itself is situated on the Baltic Sea Cycle and Hiking Trail, at the end of the access road, so through traffic is not to be expected.
This foot and cycle path runs along the shore, past the beach bath (approx. 1,000 m), directly to the city centre and ferry port (approx. 3 km). Here you will find a wide range of cultural and culinary offerings. The nearest supermarket and bakery can be reached on foot in approx. 1,300 m; a bank and pharmacy in around 600 m.
A restaurant (Sundblick) with a beer garden is located in the immediate vicinity of your “Schwedenschanze Marina.” Lunch and dinner options with tasty food and drinks are available (one day off per week—please reserve in advance during peak times for indoor seating).
Marina layout and parking
Your marina consists of three main jetties. Your boat is usually moored with other houseboats on the middle floating jetty. Other motor and sailing boats are moored between the houseboats. The four “Captain’s Quarters” are staggered at the beginning of the floating jetty, with the terrace facing the jetty. Free parking spaces are available in front of the jetties. Please note the division between camper and car parking spaces.
Property info
We welcome you to an adventure holiday on the Strelasund, aboard one of our small but unique houseboats.
Enjoy your vacation without any “fuss” and in great comfort—on the water and surrounded by nature.
Accommodation
The four nearly identical “Captain’s Quarters” are minimally equipped with a small living, cooking, dining, and sleeping area, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. The wardrobe is a storage compartment above the bed. Electricity is of course provided, but we deliberately do not offer TV or Wi‑Fi. On the terrace facing the jetty, you’ll easily meet other guests or boat owners.
What to keep in mind
This is a boat! What distinguishes life as a “crew” from that of “landlubbers” is explained in detail in our Info section. In short: it can rock, and depending on wind strength and direction, sometimes quite strongly. Dealing with the forces of nature, with less space than at home, and with limited resources can, for some, bring a sense of grounding alongside relaxation.
Use of the boats for trips
On most days, the boats are unsuitable for excursions due to their large windage areas. Trips can only be undertaken with a skipper provided by us and after early planning. To avoid disappointment, please be sure before booking that you will use the boat not for sailing trips, but solely as a comfortable quarters on the water.
Facilities and inclusions
The houseboats are equipped with a comfortable camping/bio toilet, which is emptied every few days. Berthing locations may vary depending on weather conditions. The bed linen and towel package (1 set per person) and final cleaning are included in the total price. Parking spaces are available free of charge. Additional notes
Bookings with children are possible on request—please contact us in advance for this. Pets are not allowed.
