Built in 1934, the "Landhaus am Schloss" is completely renovated in 2016/2018 in consideration of the old substance. The tiled and wooden floors have been left as original as possible. Correspondingly the house is furnished in country house style. Also a children´s room and an outdoor playground have been set up. The wall on the fenced plot belongs to the water castle of the 16th century (private property). At any time of the year you have a magnificent view of the castle moat (with beaver!).
This beautiful area with its gentle hills and the original village structures inspired us to save this house from decay. Right on the outskirts we can go on a walk with our dog into nature. And there's no hustle and bustle of tourists. Because we also like to visit museums and operas, it was important for us to reach Bayreuth, Nuremberg easily. And what can you do in the surroundings? Well, actually everything: from "A" like archery to "Z" like zoo... even skiing in summer on the "Monte Caolina".... just goole.
Schnabelwaid lies quietly in the middle of a still intact nature. Nevertheless, because of good motorway and train connections, you can reach the highlights of Middle Franconia: Bayreuth, Nuremberg, Bamberg. There´s a lot to discover in the surrounding area on foot, on a horseback or with the bike: untouched nature with beavers and kingsfishers, thermal springs, caves, castles etc. Or you can take a canoe trip on the "Wiesent", go fishing with the Creußen fishing club for pikeperch, go on a captive balloon ride or playing golf in Bayreuth or taking a cure in the "Teufelshöhle", take part in a horseback ride, whizz down the summer toboggan run, climbing through tree tops or just relax with a real Franconian beer.
