Ferienhaus Altenberg Büttner – stay central, enjoy nature, relax together
Welcome to our cosy holiday home in the heart of the spa and sports town of Altenberg in the Ore Mountains. The house is quietly located in a small side street, yet right in the town centre: bakeries, shops, restaurants, the train station and tourist information are all within easy walking distance. The Erlebnisberg Altenberg with ski slope, sledging hill, cross-country ski trails, summer toboggan run and climbing park is also just a short walk away – ideal for families, winter sports enthusiasts, hikers and active travellers.
The holiday home offers plenty of space for shared moments as well as peaceful retreats. It features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious living and dining area and a cosy TV room with a wide window front and views towards the Erlebnisberg. The large dining table seats up to 8 people – perfect for family meals, game nights or relaxing after a day outdoors.
A special highlight is the south-facing balcony with seating, electric grill and beautiful views towards the mountain and ski slope. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, tableware, pots and kitchen utensils. Wi-Fi, TV, books, board games and a high chair are also provided.
For winter sports guests and active travellers, the house offers practical extras: a ski and sports storage room in the cellar, ski boot heating, washing machine and dryer, as well as a heated cupboard in the entrance area for drying ski clothing. Access to the ground floor from the parking area is convenient, and check-in is easy via PIN code.
Whether for a ski holiday, hiking weekend, family getaway or relaxing trip to the Ore Mountains – our holiday home combines a central location, cosy living and short distances to nature, leisure activities and recreation. Arrive, unwind and enjoy Altenberg in every season.
Behind Ferienhaus Altenberg Büttner are Thomas, Ulrike and Andreas – three siblings who grew up in this house and are still deeply connected to Altenberg today. For our family, the house is not just a holiday home, but a place full of memories, family history and a true feeling of home.
Andreas lives right next door and is available on-site to help with any technical issues—for example, if a faucet is leaking or a light bulb needs to be replaced. Thomas lives in Dresden, where he also runs holiday apartments himself, and regularly contributes ideas on how we can continue to improve, enhance and make the house even more comfortable for our guests. Ulrike lives in Halle and also enjoys using the house herself for holidays, relaxation and visits to family in Altenberg.
The holiday home is managed by me, Anja Büttner. I am Thomas’s daughter-in-law and take care of guest communication, the coordination of cleaning and all organisational matters relating to your stay. As a mother of two children, I understand very well what families need when travelling. We also enjoy spending our own winter holidays in Altenberg – our children learned to ski here.
Our wish is for you to feel welcome and comfortable with us, enjoy relaxing holiday days and experience the beautiful nature of the Ore Mountains. Whether you are planning a family holiday, winter sports, hiking or simply a short break: we would like to offer you a cosy home away from home and are happy to assist you with any questions.
Our holiday home is centrally located in Altenberg in the Ore Mountains – quietly situated in a side street, yet ideal for exploring the area with ease. A bakery, shops, pharmacy, restaurants, the train station and tourist information are all just a few minutes’ walk away, so many things can be reached comfortably without a car.
A special highlight is the nearby Erlebnisberg Altenberg, which is also within easy walking distance. In winter, you will find a ski slope, sledging opportunities and access to cross-country ski trails – ideal for families, beginners and winter sports enthusiasts. In the warmer months, Erlebnisberg offers a summer toboggan run, climbing park, leisure activities and beautiful hiking routes.
If you are interested in culture and history, we recommend visiting the Altenberg Pinge and the Altenberg Mining Museum, where you can learn more about the region’s mining heritage and the UNESCO Ore Mountains Mining Region. A trip to Zinnwald with its visitor mine and the Georgenfeld High Moor, one of the most beautiful natural sights nearby, is also well worth it. Hikers can enjoy wonderful views from the Kahleberg on clear days.
For families, the Eastern Ore Mountains Wildlife Park, the Botanical Garden in Schellerhau and Lauenstein Castle are lovely excursion destinations. On rainy days, the Raupennest leisure pool and sauna area is perfect for relaxing. Day trips to Teplice in the Czech Republic, the Weißeritz Valley Railway from Kipsdorf or Saxon Switzerland are also possible.
For a cosy meal, we recommend restaurants in Altenberg such as Zum Erzgebirge, Einkehr zur Schmiede or Rodelklause at Erlebnisberg. Nearby, Bergklause Schellerhau, the historic inn Anno 1497 in Geising and Bergbaude Kohlhaukuppe are also worth a visit.
Whether you are planning a winter holiday, hiking weekend, family trip or cultural getaway – around Altenberg, you can enjoy nature, relaxation and authentic Ore Mountain atmosphere in every season.
