Old Post Loft Apartments is a renovation project of a historic former post office building in the heart of Spremberg, Brandenburg. Built in 1882–1883 as an Imperial Post Office, the building is one of the early examples of this type of public architecture in Germany, distinguished by its unique design and historical significance. While working on this project, we could have created a modern interior with plain white walls, disconnected from the building’s past. Instead, we chose to preserve its character and reveal the beauty of its original features: historic brickwork, high ceilings, and impressive arched windows that fill the spaces with natural light. The apartments are designed in an industrial style that celebrates the building’s heritage. Wherever possible, original materials and architectural elements have been carefully preserved, allowing the history of the building to remain visible and alive.
