Welcome to Villa Zauberblick, your detached retreat near the Rennsteig trail in the Franconian Forest—located just 800 meters from the trail itself. The large, fully fenced garden is a real highlight for both two-legged and four-legged guests: plenty of space to romp, sniff, and relax, plus numerous sunny and shady spots to sit or lounge, and a charcoal kettle grill. Nature starts right on your doorstep. There is something to discover in every season—and just as much room to simply do nothing at all. After all, sometimes that makes for the best kind of holiday. In the cozy barn lounge, a table tennis table and dartboard await for sociable evenings; various fitness items are also available for use. Whether as a couple, with family, or with friends: up to six people—and, of course, your four-legged family members—are warmly welcome. Because here, your dog is not a second-class guest. Open the door, let the dog out—and you can simply relax. We normally welcome up to two pets. More than two? Just ask us—we can usually find a solution. Please also contact us after booking regarding the pet fee, as this cannot be entered directly into the Booking system. Time to take a deep breath, unwind, laugh, do absolutely nothing—and, of course, enjoy quality time with family, friends, and your dog. That is why we designed our villa to let you spend your holiday exactly as you wish: with plenty of privacy and freedom, and without the feeling that you constantly need to interact with your hosts. At the same time, we are always here for you whenever you need us. Whether you are looking for a great excursion tip, want to know the best places for a walk with your dog, have a question about the villa, or encounter a minor "emergency"—please feel free to contact us at any time. Villa Zauberblick is also ideal for short stays: with a minimum booking period of just two nights, you can enjoy a long holiday, a spontaneous stopover while passing through, a quick break from everyday life, or simply a few days to put your feet up. Nature, the Rennsteig, and endless discoveries right on your doorstep Villa Zauberblick is situated on the upper edge of Lauenhain, between Ludwigsstadt and Steinbach am Wald—a quiet, nature-filled location just 800 meters north of the Rennsteig trail. The location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts: hiking, cycling, Nordic walking, and dog walks—as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter—can all start right outside the front door. Our personal recommendations for the local area include Lauenstein Castle, the Thüringer Warte observation tower, the Staatsbruch nature reserve, the Altvater Tower, and the Laura Concentration Camp Memorial. Many of these destinations can easily be combined with a scenic tour of the countryside. In summer, various swimming lakes and outdoor pools beckon: the idyllic Ölschnitzsee near Windheim is particularly lovely, as is—a little insider tip—the Webersloch near Lehesten. Indoor pools are available in Steinbach am Wald and Ludwigsstadt. Great options for day trips include Kronach, Kulmbach, Coburg, Hof, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Sonneberg, Saalfeld, Rudolstadt, Bad Steben, and Bad Lobenstein. The Hohenwarte Reservoir and the Köder Dam are also rewarding destinations. Daily needs are well catered for, too: an Edeka supermarket in Steinbach am Wald is about 2.7 km away, and an Aldi in Ludwigsstadt is around 5.3 km away. But really, a different rule applies here: Just set off. Point at the map, put on your shoes, grab your dog, hop on your bike, or get in the car—and see where the adventure takes you.
