A cosy charming, thatched cottage makes the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. In an idyllic setting, this cottage which has a double bedroom and twin bedroom makes for a perfect stay for a family or small group. A separate annex / sleeping hut is located in the garden with a small double bed for those who like to sleep even closer to the nature, or for a slightly larger group. There is a large garden with an outdoor fireplace. The cottage is the perfect place to unwind, slow down the pace and get back to nature. Therefore, there is no wifi or television in the house, but there is a log burning fire in the lounge and books/games on the shelf in one of the bedrooms. We provide an initial batch of wood, kindling, paper and firelighters. Additional bags of wood are available for a small fee.
The kitchen is fully kitted out and there is a small dishwasher as well as a washing machine. We provide washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, laundry liquid and softener.
There are apple trees, pear trees, plums, raspberries, elderflower berries and other fruits growing in the garden which guests are welcome to.
We aim to be as sustainable as possible – all of the laundry liquids, soaps and washing-up liquid provided are ecological. All the wood provided is sourced from trees felled in our own land which have outgrown the garden and we have planted additional trees since.
We are an English-Danish couple having lived in London, Paris and Denmark. The property has been in the family for many years and is a little treasure of ours.
There is a large garden at the back of the house which leads to a field and some woods further on. A walking / cycling track (disused railway line) runs from the house a couple of kilometres to the local town called Brenderup which groceries, a bakery and a takeaway pizza place can be found. The property is 5km away from a lovely beach at Varbjerg. A little further away but a short car ride is an old fishing town called Bogense with nice restaurants. The nearest major city is Odense which is 38 km away. Billund airport is 72 km away.
