Welcome to Starfish, our holiday home on the beautiful island of Als. The name is a quiet nod to its address, Søstjerneparken, the Starfish Park, and to the sea that is never far away. Step inside and you feel it at once: this is a house made for time together. 141 generous square metres, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and room for up to eight guests, tucked away in a peaceful, private holiday enclave in Købingsmark on the northern tip of Als.
Built in 2018 and warm right through the year, Starfish pairs cosy Danish hygge with plenty of space to spread out. After a day by the water, ease into the indoor whirlpool, warm up in your own private sauna, then gather around the wood-burning stove as the evening draws in. Two heat pumps, partial underfloor heating and air conditioning keep the house just right in every season.
When the weather turns, the activity room becomes the heart of the house, with billiards, table tennis and table football for rainy afternoons and friendly tournaments. The little ones have their own swing and sandpit in the garden, and a travel cot and high chair are ready and waiting.
Everything you need is here: a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and coffee machine, a washing machine and tumble dryer, fast WiFi and a flat-screen TV with Danish, German and Scandinavian channels. Outside, a large terrace looks out over the natural 1,335 m² plot, with garden furniture, sun loungers, a barbecue and sea views. Free parking for four cars and an EV charger on site, and electricity, water and heating are all included in the rent.
Just 400 metres away lies the sandy Blue Flag beach at Købingsmark, with its bathing jetty for swimming, fishing and long barefoot walks. Keen anglers are especially well looked after: the house has its own outdoor fish-cleaning station for the day's catch. With self check-in, your holiday begins the moment you arrive. Starfish is non-smoking and pet-free.
We are Caroline and Lars, a Danish family, and Starfish is our own holiday home on Als, looked after personally by us rather than by an agency. We lost our hearts to the island's light, its beaches and its sense of space, and there is nothing we enjoy more than sharing it with our guests.
For us, good hosting means a home that is spotlessly clean, thoughtfully equipped and ready for you to simply unwind, along with quick, friendly and personal replies whenever you need them. Check-in is easy and self-service, and you are always welcome to message us through your booking platform, in English or German, and we will get back to you quickly. Before you arrive, you will receive a personal digital guidebook with access codes, practical tips and our own favourite spots for beaches, days out and good places to eat.
We hope Starfish becomes your home from home for an unforgettable holiday on Als. A warm welcome, and see you by the sea.

Starfish sits on Nordals, the northern part of Als, where soft coastline, deep woods and glittering water turn an ordinary week into a small adventure. The island is famous for its beaches, and one of the finest is right on your doorstep: the long sandy Blue Flag beach at Købingsmark, shallow, family-friendly and just 400 metres away, made for swimming, sandcastles and a spot of fishing from the jetty. Anglers are in their element here, with fishing close by and an outdoor fish-cleaning station waiting back at the house.
There is wonder for every age within a short drive. Universe Science Park, Southern Jutland's largest experience park, is only minutes away, where you can ride a Segway, walk through a glacier and climb fifteen metres into the air. Denmark's first Center Parcs opened on the Little Belt in 2025, and day visitors can dive into the spectacular Aqua Mundo water park with its slides, wave pool and whirlpools. Nordborg's own glacial lake offers fishing, kayaking and lakeside trails just minutes from the door.
A little further afield, history and culture wait around every corner. Sønderborg, around twenty kilometres south, offers a medieval waterfront castle, a lively harbour and the Alsion concert hall. The 1864 battlefield and the landmark windmill at Dybbøl, the royal summer gardens at Gråsten Palace, and countless quiet coves and forest paths all lie within easy reach. Whether you are after big family thrills or a slow, salt-air kind of week, Starfish puts the very best of Als at your feet.
