The retreat house is run by a non-profit organisation which was founded in 2021. It takes care of the heritage of the German philosopher and bioethicist Theda Rehbock who bought this house in 2019 and found her new Heimat in Estonia. She saw great potential in this house surrounded by the lake and beautiful trees. She was very happy here. Her dream was to turn Susimetsa into a retreat house where people could practice philosophy as a way of life. When she passed away, her friends founded the non-profit organisation "Prof. Dr. Theda Rehbocki Susimetsa Philosophicum" which offers Susimetsa residency places to scholars from all over the world, promotes Theda Rehbock's philosophical legacy and organizes seminars and writing retreats, language and yoga camps. The house has been fully refurnished and has opened the doors for guests in July 2023.

Lakeside villa near Pärnu, surrounded by a garden, with spacious living room, piano, philosophical library, office with lake view, fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with balcony, terrace around the house. In summertime also a loft-type garden house with 10 beds is waiting for the guests. Together with the deluxe villa (Philosophicum) or with the summer house (villa), you can rent the glamorous glamping tent (3 m high, 20 m2), which is equipped with 4 beds (bedlinen and towels provided). The property is surrounded by the wood. The property has 7 ha of land, a private lake and a sauna. It is perfect for family holidays, distance work, cultural retreats, or special events (birthday parties, family gatherings, or seminars). We accommodate up to 15 people in the main house; additionally, in the summertime, 10 people can sleep in the loft-type garden house equipped with a bathroom and kitchenette. Please notice that the ceiling of the loft is low (1.50 the highest). Sauna is shared by two houses (deluxe villa and summer house) and is available for an additional fee. We also offer a possibility to sleep in a luxury glamping tent with 4 beds - you sleep like in a hotel. Pärnamäed cafe and bakery are within walking distance (1,7 km). Pärnu with its rich cultural life and shopping possibilities is reachable within 15 minutes by car. Reiu Beach and Lottemaa are around the corner.
