Casa do Mao is located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, classified as a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, at the confluence of the Mao and Sil rivers. We welcome you all year to its natural verdant setting. Its privileged location gives travellers access to walks under holm oaks and hundred-year-old chestnut trees, the Mao River footbridges on the PR-G 177 hiking trail and to various beautiful bathing spots in the Sil cañon. Casa do Mao is located in Barxacova, a small village halfway between Parada do Sil and Castro Caldelas IMPORTANT: Contrary to what is indicated on the Booking page, the village is called BARXACOVA (not San Lourenzo de Barxacova). Search for ‘BARXACOVA’ on Google Maps. Rooms can be rented individually, but it is also possible to book the entire house. Simply select “Casa do Mao” from the available accommodations. Breakfast is not included, but coffee, tea and milk are available to guests in the shared kitchen.
