Neighborhood info

Alcudia is the oldest town in Mallorca and was founded in 123 BC as a Roman settlement under the name Pollentia. With its approx. 10,000 inhabitants, most of the town lies within the almost intact, magnificent medieval town wall and two town gates. Immediately adjacent to these is the small bullring. Alcudia has a beautiful old town with narrow streets, numerous small shops, bars and typical restaurants... Both the centrally located Plaça de la Constitució and the Plaça de Carlos V further north invite you to relax with their open-air cafés. Directly in the centre is the pretty town hall dating from 1523. Other sights include the parish church of Sant Jaume from the 13th century and the Roman ruins with their amphitheatre. Sports enthusiasts will also get their money's worth here. The golf course in Aucanada, newly opened in October 2003, is one of the most beautiful 18-hole courses on the island. In addition, a wide range of water sports awaits you in nearby Puerto Alcudia with its kilometre-long, fine sandy beach.
