Our home, Las Bellotas, is a villa in a quiet, residential area by Moraira town. It is ideal simply to relax at one of the pools but, equally, it is within walking distance to the town, beaches, bars and restaurants, when you feel like exploring. It is part of a small community, providing a communal pool as well as a private tennis court, available to our guests. We even supply racquets and balls. Our own small pool, BBQ and dining area are to the south of the house, so attract sunshine all day long. We also have a small, pretty garden extending round the house, with a petanque (boules) lane at the back, great to cool down at and have a bit of fun. We also provide games, DVDs and books along with a TV tuned to UK Freesat, as well as an internet streaming service. We also have free wi-fi. We have a log fire and central heating throughout but it is seldom required, especially in summer months. The bedrooms have king-size double beds, with one room having an en-suite bathroom. Indoor cooking is by electric oven and hob. There is also a dish-washer. There is a separate outdoor utility room, providing a washing machine, iron and ironing board, as well as an extra fridge to keep drinks cool for the pool area.

My husband, John, and I are a retired couple currently living in the Scottish Borders. Our backgrounds are rather different, John having been a teacher most of his life and myself working in IT, but we share the love of the outdoors and Spain. We had been coming to Moraira for 10 years or so, and in 2016, we finally decided that the time was right for us to have our own home from home in the town and area we had grown to love so much. We hope that other people will fall in love with Moraira, as we did, by enjoying a stay in our relaxing, pretty villa.

The area around Moraira is spectacular, providing beaches with easy walking along the coast, water sports, cycling and golf. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars, many of which are at the foot of our road, less than 10 mins walk. The communal pool and tennis court are both well under 100 metres away, with the nearest bar at less than 500 metres. It is around 800 metres down to the coast road where you can find several of the restaurants and bars, as well as a pharmacy, bakery, hairdresser and newsagent. Just across that road is the nearest beach, Platges. A further 500 metres, along the coast, takes you to the main beach of Moraira, L'Ampolla. It is in a lovely setting beside the castle and town centre. There is a chiringuito right on the beach. A stroll round the coast takes you to the beautiful El Portet beach. To make the best of a visit, a car is recommended, in order to get out and see the beautiful villages in the mountains or to visit one of the nearby theme parks. If the weather is not too hot, there is wonderful walking to be had in the mountains. For a more leisurely day out, there are wine tastings to be had in the Jalon Valley.
