Les Ares is a refuge for those who need to isolate themselves from the worldly noise for a few days. In winter it is prepared with good heating to go skiing on the slopes of Baqueira. In summer it has everything you need to go on excursions on foot or by bicycle through the four national and natural parks that surround Esterri d'Àneu. On the way back there will always be a broadband wifi signal to reconnect to the prevailing reality. But it is not obligatory to use it.

Esterri d'Àneu is inthe Pallars Sobirà County, which means that in winter it is an advantage for ski lovers. Less than 20 minutes away is the first access to Baqueira, which is the Peülla chairlift. Those who stay in Vielha, the most important town in the Aran valley, often take three times longer than if they stayed in Esterri. The offer of restaurants has nothing to envy to that of the valley of Aran. We recommend El Puis (in the exit towards Port de la Bonaigua and Baqueira) for signature cuisine, with Catalan and French influences. Also L'Esquella (in the old town), for barbecues. And we especially recommend the ascent by road to the village of Isil where, in addition to a beautiful Romanesque church, we always enjoy a delicious Catalan cuisine in the Posada de la Pastora. It is also priceless for the entertaining conversation that the owners offer to all their guests. Esterri has to visit a small town inhabited since the 10th century, where you can enjoy the Valls d'Àneu Ecomuseum and enjoy the landscape and typical architecture of the Pallarés Pyrenees.
