Erik and Garry have spent much of their lives on the move — living and working across multiple countries and collecting languages, recipes, and recommendations along the way. After years of experiencing hospitality around the world, they brought what they loved most about it to a hillside in the Spanish countryside. Since opening Villa Lobos in 2023, they've welcomed hundreds of guests — and plenty of dogs — and the hospitality has only gotten more relaxed and refined with time. Both are passionate about food, and breakfast reflects that. Expect something made with care. They're happy to talk at length about where to eat, what to visit, which trails are worth the climb, and where the good local wine comes from — or equally happy to leave you entirely to yourselves, if that's what the morning calls for. Dogs are a genuine part of the household here, not a concession. Guests who travel with their dogs tend to feel that from the start. Erik and Garry between them speak English, Spanish, and several other languages to varying degrees of dignity. Welcome to Villa Lobos, a relaxed, adults-only bed-and-breakfast in a private home surrounded by mountain views and quiet countryside. All guests checking in must be 30 years old or older. We offer something different from a hotel or resort: a slower, more personal kind of stay, where the surroundings, breakfast, and company are the experience. All rooms have private entrances, ensuite bathrooms, direct pool access, mountain views, and a spacious refrigerator. For longer stays, housekeeping is provided every sixth day. A freshly cooked breakfast for two is included every morning. It is not a buffet. Breakfast is made to order and served at a time that suits you. Dogs are genuinely welcome, with up to two well-behaved dogs per room at no extra charge. Dogs must stay with their owners throughout the stay and may never be left unattended in a room, even briefly. Villa Lobos is not a resort. There are no organised activities, entertainment or bar on site, but there is plenty to explore in the surrounding towns and countryside. What you will find when you arrive is: a large pool, open countryside, vineyards, hiking trails, and time to do nothing particularly well. About the Neighbourhood Villa Lobos sits in a quiet rural valley in the wine country behind the Costa Blanca — eight minutes from the AP7 motorway at Benissa, and a world away from it. The setting is genuinely peaceful: terraced vineyards, olive groves, and mountain views that are particularly fine at sunset. It's the kind of place people didn't know they needed until they arrive. Despite the quiet, everything is within reach. Calpe and the Benissa coast are 13 km away (around 25 minutes). Benidorm is 37 km. Both Alicante and Valencia airports are within an hour's drive. Hiking trails, cycling routes, local markets, small museums, and good restaurants are all easy to reach without planning your day around logistics. It's a base that rewards those who want to explore, and equally suits those who'd rather not leave the pool.
