“The accomodation is very cosy and warm, has a sauna, a drying cabinet and a fully equipped kitchen. The whole area is well-mantained, with regular snow plowing.”

“Latu lähti heti lomakylän vierestä, se oli kätevää. Alueella oli selkeästi merkityt parkkipaikat. Parvelle menevät portaat olivat varsin kelvolliset ja liukkaus estetty hyvin. Loistavat ohjeet huoneiston ilmanvaihtoon yms.”

Lähialueella sijaitsee Suomen paras laskettelukeskus, Ylläs. Lähimmälle hissille tulee matkaa vain 5,5 km, josta on pääsy kaikille 63 rinteelle. Myös Ylläksen hyvinhoidetulle ( yli 300 km) latuverkostolle pääsee suoraan pihasta. Ylläksen 719 m korkeudessa olevalle huipulle pääsee myös ilman suksia Ylläsjärven puolelta gondolihissillä ja kesäisin siellä on toiminnassa Ylläs Bike Park, alamäkipyöräilyn keskus. Pallas-Yllästunturin kansallispuistoon johtaville patikka- ja pyöräilyreiteille pääsee lähtemään myös majoituspaikan pihasta ja Pallas-Yllästunturin Kansallispuiston luontokeskus Kellokkaaseen on matkaa vain reilut 4 km. Äkäslompolon lukuisat, aktiviteetteja järjestävät safariyritykset ovat kävelymatkan päässä ja siellä on tarjolla niin moottorikelkkasafareita, husky- ja poroajeluita kuin vaikka lumikenkä aktiviteettia. Kannattaa käydä tutustumassa tarjontaan! Kauempana sijaitseva Pakasaivon jylhän rotkojärven saavuttaa autolla noin puolessa tunnissa ja Ruotsin puolen herkkuja pääsee hakemaan helposti Kolarista, kun ylittää maailman rauhallisimman rajan ja piipahtaa ICA-kaupassa.
