Kylmämaan Ohjelmat Oy is a family-run business founded in 1988 that has long traditions being a provider of activity programmes. Our base in Ylläs is our Safari House in the Ylläsjärvi resort. We also operate throughout the year at LappeanLohi in Lappea in the Tornionjoki River Valley. The company employs four people full time. The experienced, competent and genuinely local employees are very familiar with the entire Ylläs district, Lappea and neighbouring regions and organise activities throughout the year. We have operated for over 30 years as a producer of activity services and as a destination management company (DMC). We are highly experienced producers of revitalising Arctic nature’s cold experiences and organisers of exclusive trips that respect the locality through our own service brands; KylmämaaKuura, KylmämaaMetsä, KylmamaaLoiste and LappeanLohi. Holiday village LappeanLohi has been part of our company since 2001.

Paradise for relaxation! LappeanLohi sits atop a handsome cliff, on the shores of the wild and free-flowing Tornionjoki River (boundary river of Finland and Sweden, Sweden is on the opposite shore) and around the halfway point of Lappea’s highly renowned salmon still waters. LappeanLohi is only around 30 kilometres from Kolari (nearest railway station, nearest grocery store, nearest restaurant). You can reach LappeanLohi from Kittilä Airport in app. an hour and 20 minutes and from Rovaniemi in approximately 1½ hours. To LappeanLohi there is no public transportation, but you can easily reach us by your car or we can also arrange the transportation for extra price. Throughout the entire year LappeanLohi is a tranquil destination for those after accommodation and tranquility. Accommodation is provided in pleasant rooms with plenty of character in the converted old village school. Accommodation in summertime is also provided in traditional camping cabins, or you can even park your mobile home or caravan in our open grounds. Our cafeteria in summertime 9.6.-22.8. caters to passing visitors and residents alike, serving pastries and fresh coffee or a cool drink for quenching the thirst.

There’s plenty going on in the LappeanLohi grounds during the summertime, as the salmon from the Baltic Sea, Salmo salar, ascends the river for breeding and attracts plenty of fishing enthusiasts. We hire out boats and fishing equipment suitable for salmon fishing, we sell fishing permits, and we can also arrange professional fishing guides to assist you in catching your salmon. Salmon fishing season in summer 2025 is until 22.8.2025 In late summer and early autumn when the vibrant autumnal ruska colours the landscapes, LappeanLohi organises berry and mushroom picking trips, introductions into various handicrafts, or simply relaxation. In the winter it is worth visiting LappeanLohi to search for the Northern Lights, enjoy the true sound of silence and perhaps even take part in a snowshoe trip or also snowmobile safari crossing two nations, as the snowmobile route departs from the grounds.
