WALD Villas offers high-quality cabin accommodation in three modern log cabins located on the Aavasaksa hill in the Tornio River Valley in Finnish Lapland. The property opened in January 2024. The cabins are set a short distance from each other in a peaceful forest landscape, providing privacy and space for a relaxing stay close to nature. As a small and personally managed property, our goal is to offer guests a comfortable and welcoming base for exploring Lapland’s nature throughout the year. The cabins combine modern comfort, high-quality materials and a quiet natural setting. Remote work is also possible during your stay, as each cabin includes a desk and a smart display to support comfortable working.

WALD Villas offers cosy log cabins surrounded by peaceful forest on the scenic Aavasaksa hill in the Tornio River Valley in Finnish Lapland. Completed in December 2023, the cabins provide a comfortable and relaxing base for enjoying nature in every season. The bright living area opens into a fully equipped kitchen and dining area for six guests. Large windows bring the surrounding forest landscape into the cabin and create a calm atmosphere throughout the space. A beautiful black fireplace adds warmth and atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax after a day outdoors. The cabin includes two separate bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds. An additional bed for two guests is available in the living room sofa bed. The cabin also features a unique spa room with a shower and bathtub. Dimmable lighting and a reflective window create a peaceful space designed for relaxation. From the spa room it is only a few steps to the traditional wood-heated outdoor sauna located next to the cabin, where guests can enjoy authentic Finnish sauna in the middle of nature. Some of our cabins are also suitable for guests travelling with pets. WALD Villas is located on the scenic Aavasaksa hill in the Tornio River Valley in Finnish Lapland. The area is known for its beautiful landscapes and excellent opportunities for outdoor activities throughout the year. The Swedish border and the Tornio River are located nearby, making it easy to visit Sweden during your stay. The Aavasaksa ski slopes are located about 200 metres from the cabins. The small ski area includes three slopes (the longest about 1 km), a snow park, a T-bar lift, a magic carpet lift, sledding and snow-tubing hills, as well as equipment rental and a café. An approximately 8 km cross-country skiing and hiking trail circles the Aavasaksa hill, with a wilderness shelter along the route. The scenic Kruununkierros trail begins about one kilometre from the cabins. Along the route you will find several well-known sights of Aavasaksa, including the Emperor’s Cabin, the observation tower, the accessible viewing platform, the Maupertuis monument, the statue of author Annikki Kariniemi and the Struve Geodetic Arc measurement point, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. At Aavasaksa, Kaamos Lodge offers a panoramic restaurant as well as spa and sauna services. Nearby, you'll find also a café-restaurant in Aava Sky Village. A starting point for canoeing routes on the Tornio River is located about 3 km from the cabins. During winter the area offers excellent opportunities for northern lights viewing, while in summer visitors can experience the famous midnight sun of Lapland.
