The owner and director of 'visitHOMES Faroe Islands' is Lilja Viká. Lilja is a graduate hotel receptionist from the Hotel and Restaurant School in Copenhagen. She also has a college business degree in Leadership & Management from the Faroese Business School specialising in communications. The idea of visitHOMES Faroe Islands is based on her experiences as a traveller in several European countries and her work as a hotel receptionist in the Faroe Islands. Her ideas have successfully been put into practice. All hosts are selected with care and are regularly reviewed to make sure standards and services are of the highest standard. We focus on sustainability at all levels. The ethos of visitHOMES Faroe Islands is to enable guests to have a unique experience of a home environment close to the people and culture. We, therefore, encourage all guests to feel free to tell us the purpose of their journey, because the more information we obtain, the better we are able to help guests enjoy a most wonderful experience. It has been a family home for generations. The pictures from the guest room show the chair that belonged to my great-grandfather and the sink that previously was my great-grandma's kitchen bowl. She liked to have guests and when no one visited her, she visited others. This keeps the spirit of her house alive. visitHOMES Faroe Islands focus on sustainability at all levels.
