This 3 star classified stylish place is in the centre of Aulnay village and within walking distance of amenities. The village has 4 bars, (2 serving food), plus boulangeries, banks, supermarket etc. It is a 2 bedroom gîte ideal for a couple or young small family of up to 4 people. Part of a beautiful Maison de maitre, the gîte is completely self contained, with its own entrance and therefore private. The gîte is classified with the local tourist board. The ground floor consists of open plan living, kitchen, dining room and behind this there is a full shower room with toilet and sink. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king size bed with comfortable memory foam dormeo mattress. The small children’s room has 2 full size single, cabin style beds. Please note the bathroom is downstairs . We have an above ground 3m circular plunge pool Which is purely for guests to use. There is also an open air public swimming pool within walking distance in the village, which is open in summer months. The property is set in a 2 acre garden, therefore there is plenty of space to enjoy the weather and surroundings.

We live onsite and therefore will be available if needed. We have 2 friendly dogs that live with us and therefore will be around at the property when you stay.

Aulnay is a large lively village, with plenty of amenities. The village square has bars, restaurants, boulangeries, banks, post office etc. No designated driver needed if you are going out for the evening in Aulnay ! There is also a supermarket on the edge of the village, which is perfect for weekly shopping. Sunday is market day in Aulnay, a real social day for everyone. There is also a smaller market on Thursday mornings, with the essential stalls such as fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheeses. During summer months there is an open air public pool in Aulnay, and there are also tennis courts in the village. Aulnay is within driving distance to some beautiful towns and cities such as Saintes (40 minutes), Cognac (40 minutes), La Rochelle (1 hour), Ile de Re (1 hr 20 minutes), beaches around an hour... Much of what you would need day to day is in Aulnay, but you will require a car to fully explore the area. The nearest train station is at St Jean DAngely.
