The host and hostess were charming, very friendly and accommodating. Both spoke excellent English and holidayed in the UK. They amended the menu for me as I don’t like fish. The wine was local as they sourced all their food within 50km.

Company info

We are committed to developing a subtle blend of charm, craftsmanship and eco-tourism at the Presbytère. In short, the Presbytère's approach is to "consume locally, consume green, consume consciously" with an approach that is as eco-conscious as possible by gradually adapting our habits, our energy consumption, recycling, the short circuit and the circular economy. Our table d'hôtes (offered in the evening from Thursday to Saturday) reflects this approach with local and seasonal products. Our breakfast is also made of fresh, local and artisanal products. The table d'hôtes is available by prior reservation (at least 24 hours in advance) from Thursday to Saturday evening at 7.30 pm. See you soon at the Presbytery!

Property info

Welcome to the Presbytère de Saigneville, a former 18th century presbytery converted into a charming guest house in the Baie de Somme. Vanessa and Joël will welcome you to share with you some moments of relaxation, quietness and discovery of a region full of surprises. In the annex, we propose on the ground floor the 2 bedrooms Lisa and Juliet with a small sitting area, shower room and separate toilet. Juliet has a 160 cm double bed and Lisa has a 180 cm bed, which you can choose to sleep in separate or twin beds. For families, these two rooms are connected and separated by a soundproof door. On the first floor, we offer the Iona Suite with a 160 cm double bed, a large sitting area, a desk, a shower room and a separate toilet. In the main building, you can reach Pieter's room, the former priest's room, by the original staircase of the Presbytery. On the first floor you will find two single beds (separate or adjoining, depending on your choice), a small sitting area and a shower room. A private toilet is located on the ground floor. At the bottom of the garden there are also two colourful and unusual gypsy caravans. Gastronomic table d'hôtes from Thursday to Saturday evening.

Neighborhood info

The Baie de Somme offers many wonders that will make the most adventurous seaside resorts pale. Certified as "Grand Site de France", it is the largest estuary in the north of France, with 7200 ha and a large part as a nature reserve. Since 2020, the Baie de Somme is officially classified as a Regional Nature Park. The Baie de Somme is a coastal bay located in the Hauts-de-France region, in the department of the Somme. It is bordered by the towns of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and Le Crotoy. The bay is famous for its unique natural landscape, picturesque fishing villages and wildlife, including migratory birds and seals. If you don't know what to do in the Baie de Somme, it's just mere fatigue or a lack of imagination. There is something for everyone in the Bay: romantic walk along the quays of medieval Saint-Valery, walking across the Bay at low tide (with a nature guide), seal and/or bird watching, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding, riding a Henson, sand yachting on the beaches of Fort-Mahon, cycling, boat cruising, … So let us give you some ideas and dare to become for a wonderful moment the explorer, hiker, sportsman or ornithologist inside you. Saigneville is located in the Hauts-de-France (or former Picardy). Since February 2020, the commune has been officially part of the Baie de Somme - Picardie maritime regional nature park. Saigneville is a small village situated in the countryside, halfway between the city (Abbeville at 11 km) and the sea (Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme at 9 km). On either side, just down the road from us, you can use the towpath along the Somme, on foot or by bike. For the others, the road runs through our countryside.
