The OVO Network team’s opinion - Chalet Confidentiel is a contemporary, three-storey chalet for 12 guests, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Set in the heart of Alpine pastures, with wonderful views of the mountains, it's hard to believe that you're less than a kilometre from the centre of Doucy and 6km from Valmorel. There's a private car park 500m from the chalet where you can leave your car, and a 500m path through the meadows to the chalet. This means you'll enjoy total seclusion at the chalet, but may not suit guests with limited mobility. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor – two double rooms and a larger room with two double beds. All of these rooms have televisions, en-suite shower rooms and access to the terrace. There's also a separate WC and a laundry room. Two more bedrooms can be found on the top floor, under the eaves. These spacious rooms each have large double beds and televisions, and share a shower room with WC. The first floor is dedicated to the communal living area, which has a fully-equipped, semi-professional kitchen, a large dining table and a seating area with two sofas in front of the television. There's also a WC on this floor. Due to the stairs and the path between the chalet and the parking area, this unique property may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, but it will be a very special place for a group of friends or several families looking for a holiday surrounded by nature and wildlife. Chalet Confidentiel is just 14 minutes away from the charming ski village of Valmorel, in the Tarentaise, and just five minutes from the nearest ski lift. The Valmorel, Doucy-Combelouvière and Saint François Longchamp ski area, known as the Grand Domaine, boasts 50 ski lifts, more than 340 snow cannons and 15 snow parks, with a boarder cross course, free ride and slope style areas, as well as heli-skiing. There's plenty for non-skiers too – choose from snowshoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, hiking and Nordic trails, as well as quad biking, airboarding, and tobogganing! If you'd rather just relax and take it easy, maybe a spa day at the Valmoforme or Ô des Cimes well-being centres is for you. Both offer a great range of massage and beauty treatments, as well as a spa area and gym area and tisanerie. The ESF ski school in Valmorel offers ski lessons for all ages. Doucy has its own beginners area and a Piou-Piou club, where three and four-year-olds can find their ski legs in a supervised snow garden. In summer, the snowy slopes are replaced by lush green pastures perfect for hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, rock climbing and much more. The hike to the summit of Crève-Tête will reward you with fabulous views. There's also a fabulous waterfall walk from Valmorel – visit the tourist office for maps and information. The nearby museum of traditional life in nearby Quarante Planes is an interesting day out, and the Magic Adventure high ropes park in Valmorel has ziplines, giant nets and courses for all ages. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, why not enjoy a relaxing day and take the water at the Thermes de Brides-les-Bains, a mountain spa centre just 16km from Valmorel. The historic town of Albertville, which hosted the winter Olympics in 1992, and the nearby medieval city of Conflans, are a 30-minute drive from Chalet Confidentiel.
