The apartment is separate to our house (up a flight of stairs, (so not suitable for people with mobility issues or wheelchair users), so you will have your own key to come and go as you please during your stay. Jack, our Border Collie/Labrador cross and Jill (also a Border Collie) will be here to greet you! The apartment has two bedrooms which can sleep up to five people (one on a sofa bed with advance notice) and we have travel cots and high chairs for babies and toddlers. Please note that there is a small charge for heating in the cooler months - five Euros per night.

We have two grown up children still in the UK. We moved to France in November 2020 from Hampshire (UK) and have settled in the rural hamlet of Benaize, part of Coulonges-Les-Herolles (86290).

Benaize is a sleepy little hamlet, surrounded by farms of cattle and sheep. The D124 runs right beside the house from Coulonges-Les-Herolles towards Brigueil le Chantre. We are about 300m down the hill from the church in Coulonges-les-Herolles. If you want to explore outside the area, it would be best to have a car, particularly if you want to get a meal in the evening. There is a restaurant in Chaillac (about 12 minutes) or La Trimouille (about 15 minutes away). Le Blanc has a good selection too, (that is 25 minutes away). Montmorillion (Cite de L'Ecrit et des Metiers du Livre/The City of Books and Writing) is one of our local towns, and during the summer months they have several activities organised. There is a museum on the history of the Macaron and you can buy them freshly made on site.. Some other activities in the area include: La Vallee des Singe at Romagne, Lac de Saint-Pardoux. ​Markets: Les Herolles, one of the biggest markets in the area, is on the 29th of every month - it is well worth a visit. Other markets: Montmorillon - Wednesdays, Chauvignay - Saturday, Chaillac - Saturday mornings. Walking/Cycling: from here it is easy to access the Parc de la Brenne. The motor racing circuit - Circuit of Val de la Vienne is 53 kms (54 mins) away. The area is great for walking and cycling, maps and guides available at the local Tourist Information Office​ in Montmorillon.
