We are an English couple who moved to the Dordogne in 2004. At the time it was just us and our three-year-old son Adam. We’ve since been joined by our daughter Alice and Bella the cat and the five of us live very happily here in our Perigordian farmhouse, Le Chevrefeuille. Before arriving at Le Chevrefeuille, we spent many months looking for a rural setting in which to bring up our family. We quickly fell in love with the beautiful Dordogne, especially the outdoors, healthy lifestyle it allows our children and the abundance of fresh, quality, seasonal produce we can source from local markets. Le Chevrefeuille has been our pride, joy and stress since 2004. We have transformed the ancient Perigordian farmstead into a beautiful award-winning guesthouse with bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation, and cookery school. We are extremely proud of the awards we have won over the years and we are featured in many guidebooks and have gained a reputation of excellence. Most important to us, and the thing we love most, is the experience and satisfaction our guests get when they stay with us. This is something we work very hard to create and which we care very much about.

Le Chevrefeuille is a pretty 18th century farmhouse offering modern comfort with traditional charm. Situated in the beautiful and quiet hamlet of Pechboutier, Le Chevrefeuille offers five rooms and deux gites, each with private terrace and communal swimming pool and garden. All our rooms are of a good size with two doubles, two family rooms and one family suite. We provide a continental breakfast which is composed of fresh croissants, a selection of breads and fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereals, fruit juice and tea or coffee. Le Chevrefeuille runs its very popular cookery courses throughout the season.

Just 5km from the market village of St Cyprien, 7km from the ‘prehistoric capital’ of Les Eyzies and 17km from the medieval town of Sarlat, our accomodation provides the perfect location from which to explore the castles, rockart, caves and medieval villages which make up the vivid and diverse history of this region. After a day of exploring the many tourist sites, among the favorites being Beynac, Roque de Gageac, Castleneau, Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Font de Gaume, Lascaux II and Commarque , you can retire to the peaceful hamlet of Pechboutier, which nestles in the valley between the two rivers of the Dordogne and the Vezere where you can relax by the large pool or stroll around the hamlet and visit the local artist, have a BBQ or relax until your dinner reservations at a local restaurant. With the owners on site to make any necessary arrangements, with maps, tourist information and local knowledge to plan your itinerary this is the perfect place to relax.
