Karen and John would be delighted to welcome you to Champ de Foire, situated in the beautiful Millevaches national park, where you can enjoy historic villages, picturesque river valleys, forests and lakes. Champ de Foire is in the centre of the village of Sussac, best known as the hiding place of Violette Szabo, the SOE operative immortalised in the film ‘Carve Her Name With Pride’, part of the rich history of the area waiting to be explored.
The accommodation at Champ de Foire is comprised of the following for your private use; a double bedroom, ensuite bathroom with shower and a sitting room with tea and coffee making facilities and freeview television. Perfect for relaxing in after a long day exploring the natural and cultural attractions the region offers. Continental breakfast is served in the dining room and a two course Plat de Jour is available from Sunday to Thursday for an additional charge. Evening meals must be booked at least 24hrs before your arrival using the message service. If you have any special dietary requirements, then please inform us in your message and we will do our best to accommodate. There is ample free car parking at the front of the house in the main square. Garage parking is available for motorcycles and cycles.
Sussac has its own swimming lake, 200m from the house, comprising of a sandy beach, with a children’s paddling and play area. The lake is the hub of many of the recommended walking and cycling routes that pass through the surrounding forests. Nearby is the town of Chateauneuf la Foret, which has a café, restaurant, pharmacy, supermarket and petrol station. The local area offers many interesting places to visit, such as Mont Gargan with its spectacular panoramic views and historical towns like Tregniac, Aubusson and Eymoutiers,
