I stayed in a room away from the Chateau which was initially disappointing but it was so clean and comfy that made up for it. An evening meal in the Chateau was lovely as was breakfast. Safe off road parking for my motorbike as well.

Company info

“They did not know it was impossible, so they did it.” For several years, Pascale and Philippe have been bringing Château de la Tourlandry back to life, guided by a simple belief: preserving a historic place also means allowing it to continue living. Together with their team and local craftspeople, they have undertaken extensive restoration work to reveal the character of an estate shaped by more than 1,500 years of history. Here, you are not staying in a standardised contemporary hotel, but in an inhabited château — a true living museum, where every room, object and landscape has a story to tell. Our approach to hospitality is rooted above all in passing on knowledge, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences. Pascale and Philippe enjoy telling guests about the Second Empire, Napoleon III, the revival of the estate and the choices made to protect the natural environment surrounding it. At Château de la Tourlandry, luxury is not simply a matter of appearance: true luxury is knowing how to take your time.

Property info

Staying at Château de la Tourlandry means stepping into a place that is meant to be seen, explored, listened to and shared through its stories. More than simply a place to stay, the estate is a living museum: an inhabited château, carefully restored in keeping with its identity, where the interiors, furniture, objects and surrounding landscapes reflect the many periods of its history. You will not find standardised contemporary design here. Each space has retained its own character and offers a distinctive experience: sleeping within history, slowing down, disconnecting from everyday life and taking the time to observe. Surrounded by three hectares of parkland and gardens, the Château provides a peaceful setting in which to unwind and reconnect with nature. More than 2,200 trees have been planted as part of the estate’s reforestation programme, gradually creating an environment designed for tranquillity, walking and quiet contemplation. Les Bains de l’Impératrice extend this sense of escape with a 120 m² wellness area featuring a Finnish sauna, hammam, hydrotherapy bath, sensory shower, light therapy, massages and relaxing treatments. Our eco-conscious approach is based on the responsible management of natural resources, the protection of biodiversity, the celebration of plant life and the use of short, local supply chains. The kitchen garden, fruit trees, seasonal picking and produce from the estate all contribute to a more local and mindful experience. Château de la Tourlandry is also a place of discovery and transmission. Depending on the season and the activities available, guests can learn more about its history, its gardens, its environmental commitments and the choices that have shaped its revival. We welcome you for a timeless escape combining heritage, nature and wellbeing: a stay where history is not simply observed, but truly experienced.
