We, Erik and Rochelle, have been the proud owners of La Mothaye since the spring of 2011. We immediately fell in love with its beauty, charm and peaceful surroundings. We opened in 2012. We started as a B&B, but now all rooms are with a kitchen and have dining facilities so they are self-catering. We are Dutch family of five, including our children Mats (20), Tijn (17) and June (15) and since beginning 2014 we live in France. We offer you our hospitality, our knowledge of the area and a truly unforgettable stay at our castle. We speak English, French, German and Dutch. Welcome to our home, welcome to La Mothaye.

All rooms have well equipped private bathrooms, dining facilities, and a fully equiped kitchen (self-catering). La Mothaye is a 19th century castle, which has maintained its original character with panelled walls, open fireplaces and a grand entrance. Entering our château is like entering a fairy-tale. This beautiful 19th century Chateau, is set in the centre of 35 ha (90 acres) of secluded parkland and forest. Spending a night in a real 'chateau' is a lovely experience and as our guest you not only enjoy this revival of the past, but also a swimmingpool and all other facilities our estate has to offer. From here you can easily discover the Loire region.

Well known is the 'loire a velo', with over 800 km biking-tracks. Or the zoo? Bioparc Zoo de Doue has a very special setting. It is located within the excavations of an old quarry and has a stunning bird area. Or Zoo La Fleche, well known from the TV program. Feel the Loire river itself? Try to canoe the river.
