Featured three times on Grand Designs TV, its illustrious history traces back to WWII when it was tragically destroyed by Nazis, lying abandoned for half a century. Now, meticulously rebuilt, it boasts five splendid, spacious bedrooms, each adorned with private en-suites, offering unparalleled comfort and tranquility. Set amidst the picturesque landscape near the quaint village of Vidaillat, it's conveniently located just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Limoges Airport. We are Anthony & Heidi Muir, the new owners of Chez Jallot since July 2022. Poppy and Coco are our friendly Shih Tzu dogs, who love playing ball and are very friendly, despite their first bark !! As your hosts, we take pride in curating an unforgettable experience for our guests. We are well-versed in the local culture and can provide insider tips on exploring the hidden gems of the area. Whether it's recommending the best places to dine or suggesting scenic walking trails and cycling routes Anthony, in particular, has a passion for cycling that knows no bounds. As an avid cyclist, he has explored the picturesque countryside and scenic routes around our home. Anthony is able to provide recommendations for bike routes suitable for all levels of enthusiasts.

A house with history! Built by a French master mason in the 1870s, used by the Resistance in World War 2, destroyed by fire & left to decay after the war, then restored to what it is today (as seen on Channel 4’s Grand Designs TV show), a grand building and large garden with sunken courtyard, a forest and even a secret tunnel just outside the front door, all hidden away in the beautiful Creuse countryside. There is a lot to explore within easy reach of Chez Jallot and the surrounding areas, either on foot, by bike or by car. Participate in local events & festivals, visit historic places such as Moutier d’Ahun and Aubusson and stroll through markets & brocantes in search of antiquity, tasty local produce or a bargain or two. Chez Jallot is also within easy reach of the historic cities of Limoges, Clermont Ferrand (Auvergne) and Brive-la-Gaillarde. For the more energetic of you, activities such as walking, cycling & mountain biking are all close by in places like the Monts de Guéret and the Lac de Vassivière (Chez Jallot even has a bike workshop for you to use) and for family activities there are no end of things to engage both young and older children, whatever the weather.
