Built in 1789, this beautiful Maison de Maitre is situated at the foot of the main high street and enjoys lovely views of the Abbey, a UNESCO world heritage site. This handsome house is light and tastefully renovated whilst still enjoying some of the original 18th century features such as the curved oak staircase.
Tamsin is excited to welcome guests to her home and introduce them to this gorgeous part of the world. Having previously worked as a private chef in the UK for the past ten years, Tamsin is looking forward to hosting you and offers table d'hote for your added convenience. A three course set menu, bookable in advance, using locally sourced produce wherever possible and as a licensed premises you will also be able to buy wine, beers or soft drinks to enjoy with your food.
Saint Avit Senieur is a charming, pretty village in the Perigord Pourpre. The village is perfectly situated south east of Bergerac, a mere 35 minutes away and ideal for day trips as well as visiting the other fabulous villages along the Dordogne River such as Sarlat, Le Bugue, Les Eyzies and La Roque-Gageac. A bit further north are the fascinating Caves des Lascaux and to the south of us is the famous Bastide town of Eymet. Chateaux are aplenty in the area, such as the formidable Chateau de Baynac or Chateau de Biron. And if you prefer a day on the River Dordogne, there are boat trips from Bergerac and for the more adventorous there's Kayaking or relaxing along the many river beaches.
