Located at the very start of the Brest-Nantes Canal, where the canal meets the tidal river, this newly built property offers a peaceful and scenic setting, The large garden features two beautiful mature willow trees and is just a short walk from the first lock (ecluse) at the start of the canal. The location is perfect for walking or cycling along the towpath, exploring, or simply relaxing in the garden and enjoying the peaceful setting. The accommodation includes one bedroom a comfortable lounge, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. From the lounge you can enjoy lovely views of the canal and the stunning Port - Launay viaduct.

We moved from England in 2025, we quickly fell in love with the charm and beauty of this area of Brittany, living by the canal is very special to us and we enjoy the peaceful surroundings and nature here. We also enjoy walking, cycling/motorbike riding, growing our own veg and fruit, socialising and entertaining. We look forward to welcoming guests and helping them enjoy everything the area has to offer, from walks and cycling along the canal to exploring nearby villages, markets and the stunning Breton coastline.

The property is located in the charming riverside village of Port-Launay, at the very start of the beautiful Brest–Nantes Canal. The canal towpath begins close to the property and is perfect for peaceful walks and cycling while enjoying the surrounding Breton countryside. One of the most striking landmarks in the village is the impressive Port-Launay Viaduct, which can be seen from the area and makes a wonderful photo spot. Guests can also watch boats passing through the nearby locks at the start of the canal. Just a few minutes away is the lively town of Châteaulin, where you will find shops, cafés, restaurants and a popular weekly market. Châteaulin is also home to the unusual Musée de l'École Rurale en Bretagne, and within easy driving distance you can visit the famous Musée de l'Œuf, a quirky and interesting local attraction. For dining out, guests can enjoy local Breton cuisine at restaurants such as Auberge des Glazicks, a Michelin-starred restaurant, or more relaxed canal-side dining in Châteaulin. The location is also ideal for exploring some of Brittany’s most famous landmarks including the beautiful medieval village of Locronan, the dramatic landscapes of Parc naturel régional d'Armorique, and the stunning Atlantic beaches near Crozon Peninsula. The Menez-Hom one of the highest points in the region,offering panoramic views of the country side, popular with hikers and paragliding. Huelgot Forest A fairytale -like forest filled with giant rocks hidden caves and moss covered trials, perfect for adventurous walks and family's who love nature. Landevennec Abbey , a stunning abbey over looking the Alune river estuary, quiet, atmospheric and rich in history.
