Property info

Cottage in the middle of the Massif Central Mountains. We welcome you to our 250 year old converted pair of farm cottages with a large barn attached. For anyone wanting a calm and quiet stay with a good night sleep, then our home is ideal.

Neighborhood info

Laval-sur-Doulon is a small rural village in the Haute-Loire county of Auvergne with outstanding views and walks. The nearest town is Brioude (30 minutes drive) with a full range of shops and restaurants. There is a worthy visit of a notable Byzantine Cathedral in Brioude. A great day can be had canoeing on the Allier river departing from Brioude. La Chaise-Dieu (15 minutes drive), which is a medieval town close by, has an annual international music festival in August and is also an excellent place to shop and eat out. Champagnac-le-Vieux is only a 5 minutes drive away from us and has bakery, a weekly market, a restaurant and also a lovely swimming and fishing lake ideal for a lazy day enjoying the sun especially with a picnic. The nearest train stations are in Brioude and Le Puy-en-Velay, both connected to the French railway network SNCF. The nearest airports are Clermont-Ferrand and Lyon. It is advisable that you have your own transport as there is no public transport to and from Laval-sur-Doulon.
