Saint Chabrais is a small and very quiet village just off the main road between Chenerailles and Gouzon. The cottage itself is a traditional stone building built onto the original 19th. century farmhouse with ample off road parking to the front of the house. In the village there is a newly renovated restaurant (opens in April) about 150m from the cottage. there is also a Broconte but this has no regular opening times. The cottage has recently been decorated but still keeps a typical cottage look but with some modern touches. There are electric heaters in every room if you decide to visit in cooler times. There is no direct WiFi but you can piggyback off of the WiFi next door. We will give the password on request on your arrival.

Linda is a 58 year old former accommodation manager who work for the NHS in Hastings, Sussex and has been "retired" in France for nearly a year. She currently has 3 daschunds, 5 chickens, 3 pigs and 7 tortoises. Steve is a 62 year old carpenter who is looking forward to retirement when Linda lets him.

There is always something going on in the region from Brocontes (posh boot sales),farmers markets and food and drink festivals. Twice a year on the first Sunday in March and October there is a horse fair in Chenerailles where the hole town is taken over by the fair where you can buy any thing horse related . If you were to buy a horse we have a 3acre field at the rear of the house where the horse/horses can be kept overnight. There ae numerous lakes nearby with quite a few that are free to fish but a Carte Peche may be needed , you can get this information from the local tourist office in Gouzon. In the cottage there will be tourist pamphlets showing some of the local attractions in the area.
