Our house is on the edge of the village opposite the old railway station, a park and the swimming pool. Enjoy luxury, a tastefully decorated bathroom, combined with the comfort of a cosy sitting-bedroom. The decoration is modern with a touch of nostalgia, the room radiates light and warmth. The room has a private entrance and there is a terrace in front of the room. The room is suitable for two adults. A cot and high chair can be added. There is ample parking space. There is plenty to discover in the area, from beautiful walks to bungee jumping from the viaduct, cosy restaurants or at some distance larger cities such as Poitiers, Limoges or Angouléme. Wij zijn Marco en Marina, we heten u van harte welkom in onze splinternieuwe en unieke Chambre d’Hôtes in de Vienne. Overnachten op het platteland en toch ook het gemak van het kleine plaatsje L’Isle Jourdain. Ons huis ligt aan de rand van het dorp tegenover het oude station, een park en het zwembad. We zullen er alles aan doen het u zo goed mogelijk naar uw zin te maken, er is altijd een welkomstsnackje en in de koelkast staat altijd iets te drinken. Als u dat wilt vertellen we u graag welke restaurants, wandelroutes of andere attracties er te bezoeken zijn in de directe omgeving. Geniet van luxe, een smaakvol ingerichte badkamer, gecombineerd met het comfort van een ruime, sfeervolle zit-slaapkamer. De inrichting is modern met een vleugje nostalgie, de kamer straalt licht en warme uit. De kamer heeft een eigen ingang en voor de kamer is er een terras met twee comfortabele tuinstoelen, tafel en parasol. De kamer is geschikt voor twee volwassen. Een kinderbedje en kinderstoel kunnen bij geplaatst worden. Er is ruim voldoende parkeergelegenheid. In de omgeving is er voldoende te ontdekken, van mooie wandelingen tot bungeejumpen vanaf het viaduct, gezellige restaurantjes of op enige afstand wat grotere steden zoals Poitiers, Limoges of Angouléme. L'Isle Jourdain is known for its beautiful viaduct from where you can bungee jump, zipline under it, or climb trees along the path leading to the viaduct. You can fish in the Vienne river, provided of course you arrange a fishing card (on sale at the local garden centre). There is a water sports centre where you can hire canoes or paddle board. All this can be reached on foot. L'Isle jourdain has a supermarket, bakery, bank and medical centre. A little further on in Moussac you can also hire canoes. From this place, you can cover routes from 1 hour to 5 hours. You make arrangements with the rental company to be picked up where and when. It is a great experience to see the world from the river Vienne and see villages and the landscape from that side. In 2022, a brand new, heated outdoor swimming pool opened in L'Ise Jourdain. It is open from mid-May to mid-September. Several hiking trails La Pierre Folle and Le Chene Tremblant run directly from the house, but more information is available on our website and at the local tourist office. Special mention deserves the campsite in Queaux, in the months of July and August there is live music every Friday evening, a small market with local products and you can have a bite to eat. A 5-minute drive away is the Val de Vienne race track. From the beginning of April until the end of October, there are regular motor car or classic car races on weekends. The Ferrari weekend in early June is particularly popular. During this weekend, more than 500 Ferrari present themselves in aid of the charity "500 Ferrari contre le cancer". It is a great event which attracts a lot of crowds. Some towns worth visiting in the area (30-minute drive) are: Montmorillon, Confolens, St Germain de Confolens, Bellac, Chauvigny (a big market on Saturday morning and a spectacular bird show in an old ruin), Our Chambre d'Hôtes is centrally located between Poitiers (50 min), Limoges (1 hour) and Angouleme (1.15h) .
