Welcome to our 3-star gîte, 'An Kay Ou', a unique and cozy accommodation where you'll feel right at home! Located at the gateway to the Diois and Vercors regions, you'll find a peaceful, family-friendly environment and numerous activities within walking distance: swimming, walks, and hikes. You'll be staying in a recently renovated 18th-century house in the heart of the village, with a garden and a private terrace for relaxing moments, all while enjoying beautiful panoramic views. The gîte comprises a kitchen/living/dining room, a bathroom/WC, and one bedrooms, including a double bed and single bed. A sofa bed is available in the living room and can be used as an extra bed. In summer, enjoy the coolness of the house thanks to its thick stone walls! This accommodation includes a small private terrace with a table, chairs and deckchairs. Upon request, we can provide a travel cot, baby bath, etc. The house is located on a pedestrian lane, approximately 150 meters from the village parking lot. You can, however, park near the cottage to unload your vehicle. IMPORTANT: The terrace is accessible via an external staircase (original stone construction). Unfortunately, the conditions do not provide an adapted access.
A few kilometers from the village, you can enjoy the activities offered by the Drôme in all seasons: hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, via ferrata, climbing, caving, paragliding, summer markets and outdoor entertainment in summer, as well as hiking. snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, or dog sledding in winter. Ski stations near Pontaix (between 30 and 60min): Col du Rousset (28km), Vassieux en Vercors (38km), Fond d'Urle (45km), Herbouilly (62km). Notice to visitors! *The house is made up of several levels, with cascading terraces giving you a breathtaking view of the valley, but requiring to enjoy it to climb a few steps to access it. *The accommodation is located in a small pedestrian alley – perfect for your peace of mind, but which will also require you to move away about 200 meters to park. Pontaix is located 57km from Valence-Ville station and 67km from Rhône Alpes Sud TGV station (Alixan), 12 km from Saillans station and 9.5km from Die station. The village is also accessible by the D28 bus line.
