Gites dans les Champs, situated in beautiful countryside in Poitou-Charentes, offers three spacious gites of a high standard. Ideally located for walking, cycling, kayaking and horse riding. With a fenced swimming pool and sun terrace, set in three acres of private parkland. The gites can be rented individually or as a whole making it an ideal location for family and friends to get together or to meet and make new friends

We love the peace and quiet of the French countryside. We are surrounded by beautiful fields but near to all the facilities one could need. We love cycling on the quiet country roads - often to the local restaurant. Verteuil-sur-Charente is a beautiful place to visit, for a wander by the river, a visit to the Chateau and there are two picturesque spots for a cool drink or a meal.

Cognac is only 45 minutes drive, with good cognac and wine tours. Niort, 50 kms, has a chateau, shops, restaurants and kayaking. Vallee des Singes Monkey Park is only 30 minutes away - wander from islet to islet in this parkland setting and observe monkeys roaming free in this beautiful cage free habitat. Futuroscope in Poitiers, about 50 kms away, is a high tech theme park with extreme thrills, images in giant-screen format, breath-taking shows and interactive adventures that will delight your senses, and more. Fun for all the family. Venise Verte at Niort is a beautiful area of canals with boutique cafes and restaurants. Why not hire a punt with a driver and cruise the waterways. Aire de Rejallent (20 minutes away) on the Charente is particularly scenic with its little bridges and grassy islands. Here you can swim, BBQ and picnic, ramble on riverside trails and of course the kids will love the play area. During July and August canoes and kayaks are available to hire. The popular restaurant offers alfresco dining with views over the river.
