Welcome to Casa Baccata. We created this place because we enjoy imagining, building and evolving spaces where people feel good. Both of us studied environmental sciences and forestry, which made us particularly sensitive to the relationship between nature, living spaces and well-being. Casa Baccata grew from this idea: to create a simple, lively and inspiring place, always trying to innovate while staying connected to the natural environment around us. We fell in love with this region for its unique balance: the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat nearby, and all around it a preserved landscape with forests and rich biodiversity. We enjoy welcoming travelers from different backgrounds, sharing a few tips about the region, or simply offering a pleasant place to pause and relax. Whether you are here to explore the Dordogne, travel through the area, work remotely or just slow down for a few days, we hope you will feel at home here.

Casa Baccata is designed as a peaceful retreat in nature, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, just a few minutes from Sarlat. The spirit of the place is simple: to offer a calm, welcoming and authentic environment where guests quickly feel at home. The accommodation includes different living spaces and types of lodging, each with its own atmosphere: comfortable guest rooms, independent chalets and welcoming shared areas. The outdoor spaces invite you to fully enjoy the surrounding nature, with terraces, relaxation areas and places to gather or simply take time to unwind. The way the place operates encourages autonomy and simplicity: a fully equipped kitchen is available for guests to use freely, and breakfast is offered in self-service with no fixed schedule, allowing everyone to enjoy their stay at their own pace. Particular care has been taken in the choice of materials and installations in order to reduce the environmental impact. The property favors practical ecological solutions: natural materials, responsible water use and energy-efficient equipment. You will also find modern waterless ecological toilets, an innovative system that significantly reduces water consumption while remaining simple and comfortable to use. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and slightly unusual, somewhere between a guesthouse, a refuge for travelers and a nature retreat. Whether you come to explore the Dordogne region, take a break during your travels or simply recharge for a few days, Casa Baccata offers a natural and welcoming setting to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Casa Baccata is ideally located to explore the highlights of the Périgord Noir region. Just a few minutes away, the medieval town of Sarlat is one of our guests’ favorite places, with its charming cobbled streets, lively markets, restaurants and remarkable historical architecture. The region is also famous for its beautiful villages such as La Roque-Gageac, Beynac-et-Cazenac and Domme, many of which are listed among the most beautiful villages in France and offer stunning views over the Dordogne Valley. Nature lovers particularly enjoy the many outdoor activities available nearby, including hiking, cycling and canoeing on the Dordogne or Vézère rivers. The surrounding forests, cliffs and rolling landscapes make the area exceptionally rich in biodiversity. The Périgord Noir is also known for its unique prehistoric heritage, especially in the Vézère Valley, home to numerous prehistoric sites and caves. Local gastronomy is another highlight of the region, with traditional markets, local producers and many excellent restaurants to discover.
