La Grange at times also puts on small exhibitions showcasing art from local artists as well as some from further afield and the walls of the guestrooms and communal area often have works that are available to purchase.

Situated minutes from the Vallee des Peintres where Monet once owned a house and numerous masters have spent time painting the rich landscapes La Grange is ideally placed close to main road routes travelling north, south, east and west through central France for those wanting a central base to explore the Creuse, Haute-Vienne and Indre regions. La Souterraine is just 10 minutes away and offers regular trains to and from Paris, the journey taking 2 hours 45 minutes and offers all amenities as does Dun-le-Palestel, whilst surrounding villages such as Crozant and La Celle-Dunoise also enjoy restaurants open year round. Perfect for hiking with trails consisting of short easy walks to longer more serious routes, the rolling countryside is great for cycling. Home to its own professional Criterium bike race held annually, the Tour de France often takes in the area as part of its route. Kayaking is available during summer months along the River Creuse while the river and Lac du Eguzon have numerous man made beaches where you can enjoy a swim. The area also has 3 major equestrian centres and plenty of fishing all less than 25 minutes by car. Grosbost itself offers a break from the hustle and bustle. However, the commune is full of interest and the organic fruit and vegetable farm run by former professional chef Greg and his wife Emmanuelle offers visitors the opportunity from mid-summer to enjoy a cheese making tour and for those feeling brave, you can even try your hand at milking a goat. The city of Limoges, with its international airport and café culture has recently been named best city in France in which to live. So if exploring the old butchers quarter with its wattle and daub buildings, taking in the sights and sounds of one of the best wet markets in France, looking for a piece of its world renowned pottery or just watching the world go by while sitting in one of its numerous cafes, restaurants and squares the city is well worth the 45 minute drive.
