We purchased the Lake House almost 3 years ago, which was unhabitable and had been left empty for almost 30 years. We completed the renovation works last autumn and have created a lovely home situated next to the Lac de Lavaud. There is a plunge pool with outdoor solar heated shower, decking area to sunbathe and covered terrace dining area as well as a wooden gazebo situated next to the lake with fantastic views.
We both love the great outdoors and there is no better place to relax then next to the lake where you can go fishing, enjoy a lovely walk or cycling. We love meeting people having successfully managed a bed and breakfast guest house in france with gites. Having guests enjoy their holiday and take home happy memories is our goal.
There is so much to discover within the neighbourhood. Situated at the opposite side to our lake are restaurants with beaches where you can hire paddle boards and small boats. You can walk around our lake which totals about 14km making a stop half way round at the beach bar/restaurant. Also within the area we have museums including Oradour-sur-Glane, the chateau at Rochefaucauld, Gallo Roman remains at Chassenon, Velo rails at Confolens and Bussiere Galant etc. Every Wednesday morning at Piegut-Pluviers you will find a large market of over 200 stalls with local produce and artisan goods for sale. You can take a day trip to Rocamadour and also visit the Gouffe de Padirac as well as the famous town of Sarlat in the Dordogne. Also a trip to Brantome a picturesque town featuring a monestry, cobbled street filled with restaurants and craft shops along the river, where you can also take a boat trip. So much to do and visit, you'll never be bored.
