Located in the beautiful, very peaceful countryside of the foothills of the Pyrenees, la pantoufle verte enjoys a delightful position with huge spaces of tranquillity all around. The pool is available from the beginning of June until the end of September and the jacuzzi relaxes you all the year round. Walking is possible from the door; no need to get in the car. There are signed paths around the village and you can walk for as far as you like on the country trails. Nature is all around you such as birds of all sizes, including eagles and vultures, foxes, rabbits and wild boar, to name a few. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, where you can sleep without the lights of the city, you won't be disappointed.

We are Brian and Sue and have many years of experience as hosts. We will do our best to ensure you have a wonderful holiday, even if you only stay for one or two nights. Meeting people, giving them a warm and memorable experience is what we endeavour to achieve. We enjoy walking in the hills and mountains and also love to go to the gorgeous beaches and coves, so can advise you about places that suit your style and interests. The village of Montauriol consists of about 250 people. You can find out more about the village by visiting the website of the mairie. The nearest shops are in the next door village of Fourques. Here you have a small supermarket, pharmacy, boulangeries etc which provide most of the essentials. Most of the area is dedicated to the production of wine and there are many places where you can have guided tours of the vineyards, musical evenings at some domains and of course, dégustations! Other local productivity consists of, amongst many other fruit and vegetables, almonds, olives, cherries, apricots, peaches and nectarines The nearest town of Thuir offers many restaurants, a Saturday market and the famous Caves Byrrh who do an animated, theatrical tour. The Roman influence is strong and evidence of their occupation is everywhere, even traces of their carriagewayon the land at la pantoufle verte. There are many Roman churches to visit also.
