Martin and Rod welcome you to their beautiful corner of the Limousin, nestled on the border of the Dordogne and Charente. Come and relax in our luxurious 2-bedroom gite, complete with all the amenities necessary for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We want to provide the type of holiday we would enjoy ourselves and take pride in the quality of our accommodation. You are assured of a warm welcome and we are always on hand to give advice on local sites, walks and amenities.
I live in rural France with my husband Rod and our two border collies. We have lived in France since late 2020 and moved to our house in early 2021.
We enjoy the wonderful French cuisine, the slower pace of life and the stunning wildlife and Limousin countryside.
La Marchaderie is perfectly located in a National Park and perfect for trips into the North Dordogne, Charente and Limousin regions. Within 30-minutes are the beautiful chateau towns of Rochechouart and Rochefoucauld, whilst the bustling cities of Angouleme and Limoges are approximately 45 minutes away. To the South, Nontron (famous for its knife manufacture) is a short 20-minute drive and the beautiful towns of Perigoux and Brantome can be reached in under and hour.
For the active visitors, there are wonderful walks and cycling routes as well as opportunities for horse riding in the nearby forest of Boubon, swimming in the nearby lakes and canoeing on the lakes or Vienne.
