Every detail is so thoughtfully considered—the house radiates beauty and incredible energy. Chef Antoine’s food is unforgettable (make sure to book 24hrs before your stay), and Gavin’s wine pairing is the perfect finishing touch.

Gavin est très sympathique et a pu nous faire découvrir son domaine entièrement rénové et partager avec nous ses projets. Nous avions réservé le dîner avec son chef qui s’est à avéré être excellent.

Company info

Gavin, host and resident winemaker, loves four things: nature, wine, food and music. He is an adept singer songwriter, a superb guitar player as well as being a great, intuitive winemaker. He is ready to welcome you into his world which features all four.

Property info

La Traversée is a wonderful maison de vigneron converted recently to a high-end winery stay, with acclaimed winemaker Gavin Crisfield in residence. The property is found in the small village of Les Salces (translation - the source - after the spring which rises in front of the house) The house is in the centre of the pretty village and at the centre of village life, be it music, wine, food or culture. We aim to reflect that providing exemplary wine and food for your stay as well as quality accommodation. Gavin has been making La Traversée on site for fifteen years. Initially biodynamic, then organic, the wines quickly gained a reputation for being among the very best in the region. They can still be found on 3-star Michelin restaurant lists, like Marcon Our chef, Antoine Loiseau, has aspirations to create the best food in the region. He is helped by his profound understanding of local produce (his partner is a shepherd) and his creative flair and driven by a love of gastronomy and service. Your stay can be as immersive as you wish: winery tours and tastings, gastronomic dinners, sharing the lovely space that gives out onto the garden and even, the occasional musical soirée on site. Or you can do your own thing taking advantage of the myriad things to do locally.
