Manon is a speech therapist in Valleraugue, and Pierre is a geographer researching agricultural transformations. Seasonal rentals are not our main professional activity, but rather a way for us to welcome travellers—just as we enjoy travelling ourselves. Justine helps with the day-to-day running of the house. Because of our professional commitments, we may occasionally be absent when you arrive. A detailed guide will be sent to you beforehand so that you can settle in independently and without difficulty.

The house, named Le Cagnel, is a large traditional Cévennes magnanerie (silkworm farm) located along a hiking trail, offering a sweeping view over the charming village of Valleraugue. It is our family home, with certain areas reserved for guest accommodation.

You will discover the many treasures of the Cévennes National Park: outdoor activities, and a rich natural, architectural, and cultural heritage. In the village of Valleraugue, you’ll find a variety of dining options (restaurants, pizzeria, café, guinguette, etc.), healthcare services (doctor, nurses, osteopath, speech therapist, etc.), and local shops (two grocery stores, two bakeries, a butcher, a pharmacy, a tobacconist, a petrol station, and a mechanic). The upper Hérault valley is also renowned for: its exceptional biodiversity; breathtaking starry skies (International Dark Sky Reserve); a rich and complex socio-ecological, economic, and religious history; a wide variety of hiking trails (notably the famous "4000 steps" trail); the Aigoual state forest (and its mushrooms); Mont Aigoual (with its highland pastures, Observatory, “Climatograph,” and Alti-Aigoual outdoor activities centre); peaceful river spots; and more. Valleraugue also hosts numerous events, supported by a vibrant local community and a dynamic network of associations and municipal initiatives.
