Le Cantou is a charming 19th-century stone house, named after its original large fireplace, nestled in the picturesque village of Affieux. The B&B features a private entrance and foyer area with tea and coffee-making facilities. We offer two beautifully styled double rooms, each with a king or superking-sized bed. One room overlooks the lush garden, while the other offers breathtaking views of the Monédières landscape. We are happy to provide local recommendations for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, and outdoor activities. Breakfast is available at a time convenient for you, freshly prepared each morning with homemade items such as muffins or cakes. For an additional charge, we offer a hearty breakfast including pastries, bread, cakes, meats, cheeses, eggs, yoghurts, and fresh fruit, along with fruit juices, coffee, and tea. We also offer evening meals—please contact us for more details. Le Cantou now has a licensed bar area where guests can enjoy drinks (up to 18% proof). During the summer months, guests can enjoy our heated swimming pool, sun loungers, and relax in the beautiful surroundings. Please note: We have a friendly dog that may bark occasionally (not very often!), but he does not enter the B&B. If you love dogs, please let us know—he would be delighted to meet you!

Le Cantou has been part of the local community for a long time. In the past it has been an auberge, a restaurant and a B&B. We love living in France and enjoy our lives in the tranquility of the French countryside. We love growing our own produce and have spent a lot of time renovating our 19th century home.

Affieux is a small village in the centre of France, and is located on the Millevaches plateau in the Millevaches regional natural park in Limousin. There is a 12th century church that you can visit and a 17th century chateau plus amazing views of the sunset and the Limousin landscape. Affieux is located 3km from the medieval town of Treignac which sits on the River Vezere. Treignac is regarded as 'une petite cite de caractere' (little city of character). Here you will discover a remarkable architectural and natural heritage: Old Bridge from the 13th century, churches and chapels, fountains, grain market, panoramic tower from the 15th century and half-timbered houses. The town is renowned for its white waters which make it a global canoe-kayak spot. There are many lakes within driving distance of the B&B and the nearest with facilities is Lac de Bariousses. which is the ideal destination for a relaxing or sporting day, with family or friends.
