Welcome to our home. Set in a small hamlet just outside of Saulgond in beautiful countryside, Le Jolie Grenier à Foin (The Pretty Hayloft) is an 18th century cottage and hayloft which has been lovingly and sympathetically renovated by my partner and I. This cottage is comfortable furnished and tastefully decorated retaining its traditional character with handmade bespoke features. There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite shower, toilet and sink facilities. The second bedroom has two single beds and a second shower room also with shower, toilet and sink facilities. The kitchen dining area is spacious and is well equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven with gas hob, microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine, dining table, utensils, cooking equipment and crockery. The comfortable lounge area has reclining chairs, tv, dvd player and a log burning fire. Guests will enjoy use of the adjoining courtyard area with patio table & chairs, gas BBQ and will have use of the garden with sun loungers opposite the property.

I have lived in France since November 2016 with my partner Darren. Over the first 18 months we were kept busy renovating the 250 year old cottage opposite our house. We are originally from Yorkshire, England and were food industry professionals in our previous lives in the UK. We love meeting people and enjoy sampling the delights that France has to offer and hope you will too; the great cuisine, wine, local attractions and traditions, the relaxing way of life and the lovely, friendly, French people.....oh, and of course the sunshine.

Our home is great for relaxing, birdwatching, nature watching and on a clear night stargazing. It's also great for cycling, walking and the numerous activities such as horse riding, golf, fishing, water sports & historical places of interest, all just a short drive away. If you fancy a shopping spree then the cities of Limoges and Angoulême are within 45 minutes drive. For shops, bars and restaurants then we are ideally located for St. Junien, Confolens and Chabanais which are a 15 minute drive. Château de Rochbrune is within 2 miles, open July & Aug with Châteaus de Rochechouart and Rochefoucauld 30 mins drive. Historical places of interest nearby include Cassinomagus the Gallo-Roman thermal baths and Orador-sur-Glane. Activities within 30 mins drive:- Golf (St. Junien), fishing, horse riding and water sports, kayaking and the man made beach with lifeguard supervised swimming at Lac de Lavaud.
