We are Kevin and Erin, your hosts and the caretakers of Le Mas d’Ayen. Along with our dogs, Put and Kara, we moved to the Corrèze to build a community centered around nature and simple, authentic living. Our goal is to offer more than just a place to sleep; we want to provide a space where every guest feels welcomed, relaxed, and truly at home. As hosts, we are approachable and hands-on, often found tending to the grounds or prepping for one of our communal dinner nights. We believe the best holidays are built on connection—whether that is a shared story over a fresh cup of coffee in the courtyard or a quiet conversation during our "Table d’hôte" evenings. Le Mas d’Ayen is a place shaped by time, nature, and the philosophy of Friluftsliv—the art of open-air living. Our historic estate, dating back to 1604, was once a hunting lodge and has been mindfully restored into a sanctuary of "modern-rustic" calm. Set across 7 hectares surrounded by wooded trails and quiet pastures, the property balances its rugged 17th-century masonry with clean, airy interiors. At the heart of the estate is the old cowshed and hayloft, now a warm communal restaurant and rose-scented courtyard. Guests can enjoy our 12m saltwater pool with valley views, or retreat to our private wellness area featuring a panoramic Nordic sauna and hot tub. Whether you choose a restored stone gîte with high ceilings and wood-burning stoves, or a bell tent pitched in our beautiful valley, Le Mas is designed for grounding. We maintain "wild" areas to encourage local biodiversity, ensuring that the owls and kestrels who share this land remain part of the experience.
