We got a lovely reception at arrival and had great support throughout our stay. The property is is a lovely set of buildings in what was once a farm/water mill. Old trees and and the sound of water are everywhere. It was magical.

Well, Le moulin l'Eveque or the Bishop's mill, is a former grain mill which was a fully working water mill until the end of the second world war. It is a little hamlet of 4 cottages/houses, one of which I have lived in since early 2003. I was based in London for more years than I care to mention. (I am Irish myself) and I was looking for a little bolt hole away from all the bustle that goes with big city living when I came across le moulin l'Eveque. It ticked absolutely NONE of my boxes. I just fell in love with the place and felt I had to live there. So despite it having nothing in common with my bucket list, I just went ahead and bought it. I upped sticks and moved over full time and have no regrets about having done so. I love the place as much as I did when I first set eyes on it. There is a history going back to 1308 and I would be more than happy to tell you all about it one afternoon or evening, over a glass of wine!
I'm a Dubliner by birth but spent all my working life in London. I enjoy a game of golf but don't play enough these days. I like almost all genres of music apart from gangsta rap and Kanye West! The french equivalent of car boot sales, known as vide greniers, which translates as empty your attic are held each Sunday in a village nearby, and can throw up some interesting finds if you have the patience
Neighborhood is not really the right word to describe this part of France. Region would be more appropriate. Normandy is a beautiful region of France and is a fantastic launch pad to reach other regions. The major autoroute the A84 is only 7 minutes away, although when you arrive here you would have no idea that it was so close. Within an hour's drive you can visit all the major attractions that people come to Normandy to visit, such as the landing beaches, the Bayeaux tapestry and Le Mont St. Michel. The roads are almost deserted by British standards and the local towns are well equipped with supermarkets, restaurants and cafes while the village bakeries supply fresh baked baguettes every morning and again in the evening.
