L' Auberge de L'Ecu, as the property was called in 1722,is located at the top of the majestic Rue de Pavillons in the picturesque and historic town of Preuilly sur Claise. It was initially built as two houses and those who have lived here over time have left a wealth of history. As an auberge ,it belonged to the same family for almost 200 years and when you close your eyes it is easy to imagine the horses and carriages pulling in trough the large gates and resting overnight in the grange while their owners enjoyed good wine and food in the large salon of the auberge.

After 7 years of careful restauration ,the house is once again welcoming guests! Elena and Gica offer beautiful rooms with private bathrooms ,a private courtyard to relax and splendid breakfast to set you up for the day. You are welcome to request an evening meal-table d'hote in advance, prepared by Elena and Gica themselves who are renowned chefs in Sweden where they lived and worked for over 20 years.
