Peace, quiet and nature are the keywords here. You are provided with every convenience. If there are any wishes, we would like to hear them so we can (try) act on them. This gîte is comfortable, cosy and inviting, with firm beds (1 double, 1 bunkbed and 1 single), a well equipped kitchen with induction cooker, a private terrace, lounge chairs and BBQ equipment. The large garden has some fruittrees, grass and lots of space to play or picknick. A large pool (sun heated) is at your disposal, there are beds, chairs and beach umbrellas. Behind the large garden is a meadow wich will be a small campsite as off 2025.
In 2023 we moved to this beautiful spot in France, from the Netherlands. We have 2 rescuedogs (a Beagle and a Pastor Catalan) and 3 cats, some chickens (fresh eggs!) and a vegetable garden. We love to cook, bake and make our guests as comfortable possible. Vincent is the handyman who can make anything he wants and he's an excellent chef. Sandra loves baking and will surprise you with homemade pastries, desserts and ice cream.
Walking in the woods, between the sunflowers can be done directly from the terrain. Vincent has some routes set on wikiloc. Medieval villages are Verteuil -sur-Charente en Nanteuil- sur-Charente (15 km) You can visit the castle in La Rochefoucauld. Ruffec and Mansle have some big supermarkets (20 minutes) , the nearest supermarket is in Champagne-Mouton (12 minutes) with a gasstation. Oradour- sur-Glane is a war monument, a village destroyed in one day, but kept preserved, impressive at 1 hours drive. Futuroscope, themepark in Poitiers at 70 minutes. Larger cities are Angoulème (40 min) and Limoges (60 min) for shopping and musea. Monkey Zoo La vallée des Singes à Romange (45 min) The great lakes of the Charente for fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc. (30 min) Accroparc de Soyaux, climbing park (40 min). Lots of restaurants in the area.
